Public Inquiry Support for Operators in Great Britain & Northern Ireland

Received a Public Inquiry call-up letter?
The time to prepare is now.

A Public Inquiry is not the time to discover that promised improvements cannot be demonstrated. LTS Europe helps operators facing Traffic Commissioner or Transport Regulation Unit scrutiny take control of the situation early and prepare the business for regulatory examination.

It may start before the Public Inquiry

A DVSA/DVA roadside encounter, Operator Centre investigation, interview under caution or other regulatory intervention can be the beginning of a much wider compliance issue. Early action gives you more time to respond properly.

More than preparing paperwork

We work with the operator, Transport Manager and, where appropriate, your transport solicitor to help ensure the operation behind the case is ready for examination, not simply the paperwork prepared for the hearing.

Already reached Public Inquiry?

Many compliance issues are preventable but once a Public Inquiry has been called, the focus must be on what happens next.

Early action can still make a significant difference. Waiting until the hearing itself to respond can leave too little time to demonstrate that meaningful change has taken place.
Urgent regulatory or enforcement letter?

If you have received a Traffic Commissioner Public Inquiry call-up letter, correspondence from the Transport Regulation Unit, or urgent DVSA/DVA enforcement correspondence, contact us now.
What is a Public Inquiry?
A Public Inquiry is a formal regulatory hearing at which the future of an Operator Licence, Transport Manager or transport operation may be considered. In Great Britain, hearings are conducted by a Traffic Commissioner. In Northern Ireland, operator licensing hearings are dealt with by the Transport Regulation Unit.
What can lead to a Public Inquiry?
A Public Inquiry may follow concerns identified during a DVSA or DVA roadside inspection, an Operator Centre visit, maintenance investigation, drivers’ hours or tachograph issues, vehicle prohibitions, an interview under caution or other regulatory action.
When should I seek support?
As early as possible. You do not necessarily need to wait until a Public Inquiry has been formally called. If DVSA, DVA, the Traffic Commissioner or the Transport Regulation Unit has raised serious concerns about your operation, early preparation can give you more time to respond effectively.
Practical Experience. Direct Support.
LTS Europe is a developing consultancy, but the experience behind it is not new.
Our team brings practical operational experience across transport management, fleet compliance, operator licensing, training, governance, HR and management systems.
That experience is supported by professional qualifications in transport management, HR and training, together with formal legal education that strengthens our understanding of regulatory process, evidence and decision-making.
From your first contact, you will have direct access to experienced transport professionals who understand how compliant operations are built and maintained in practice.
We do not outsource your compliance or seek to manage it indefinitely. Our aim is to help strengthen your systems and equip your own people with the skills, knowledge and confidence to manage compliance effectively going forward. Where specialist legal advice or representation is required, we are comfortable working alongside your chosen transport solicitor.
